Referees' watchers and advisers

SA referees has made known its committees which assess, coach and select referees for 2009. Amongst those on panels are eight with Test experience.

Performance Reviewers are those who look to every detail of a referee's performance in a match. If the referee misses something they will note it down in detail - time, player, incident.

Match Reviewers look at the overall performance of a referee in a match and will give him a percentage.

Both produce reports which are sent to the referee who will also receive a recording of the match.

If the referee disagrees with anything in a report he can appeal and the matter is then looked at by an Auditor.
