Salmans gets top WP award

Joey Salmans, recently promoted to the National Panel of referees in South Africa, received the top award at Western Province's annual awards dinner.

In succession to JC Fortuin, Salmans received the award  as Referee of the Year for 2008. He also received an award for the Highest Examination Mark.

Quinton Immelman received the award for Most Promising referee of the Year.

Annually the referees make an award to a club - The Referees' Shield for Sportsmanship. This year it went to Windmeul RFC.
