Clip 11 - 1 September

"Nice and easy does it."

Western Province play Free State at Newlands. Robert Ebersohn is at outside centre for Free State. He picks up a loose ball and runs forward into Gio Aplon of Western Province in the right corner.

Unfortunately the full view of what happened next is not available till we see the result of it.

In Aplon's tackle, Ebersohn was lifted off the ground and was horizontal to the ground, his head lower than his torso.

Two Western Province players joined Aplon - Frikkie Welsh and Conrad Jantjes. Together the three kept Ebersohn off the ground until he could be safely lowered onto his feet.

That's what the law requires if there is a tip tackle.
