Clip 1 - 2 February

"Roll away, 2". And he rolled away.

There is a lot of quick turnover of possession here - from Stormers to Sharks and back to Stormers. Stormers' prop Brok Harris charges and Sharks' hooker Bismarck du Plessis brings him down as players gather.

The referee calls: "Roll away, 2."

2 is Du Plessis.

Du Plessis obeys, which is a wise thing to do, and moves his body to his left with hands clearly not involved in anything nefarious. In doing this he leaves a clear channel for the ball.

Law 15.4 THE TACKLER
(a) When a player tackles an opponent and they both go to ground, the tackler must immediately release the tackled player.
Sanction: Penalty kick
(b) The tackler must immediately get up or move away from the tackled player and from the ball at once.
Sanction: Penalty kick

Du Plessis sets a good example.

This week we shall have several tackle examples as the tackle has caused so many talking points.
